Spatial-typological structure of bird population central Russia

The article is based on the materials of the Collective Use Data Bank of the Institute of Animal Systematics and Ecology, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences. To identify the spatial and typological structure of the bird population, we used data on their abundance in different habitats in the first half of summer (15.05–15.07), collected in Moscow and surrounding regions, received by the bank mainly from 1970 to 2016. A comparison of the classifications of the bird population according to the materials before 2000 and all the information available in the bank for 2016 showed that the increase in the sample almost doubled made a number of clarifications and additions. However, this did not lead to fundamental differences in the results of classification and the spatial-typological structure of the bird population, and did not entail significant changes that radically changed the idea of the heterogeneity of the bird population of central Russia.
