Classifi cation and ordination of mud volcano plant communities were made by data from 185 releves at 1×1 m plots. 29 vascular plant species and 8 moss species compose 9 recognized communities. Plants communities form topography along a mud volcano stress-gradient at short stretch. Number of species, fl oristic richness and abundance increase at the distance from the main eruption center. Dominance change from endemic species in volcano core zone to Salix fuscescen on outskirts. Vegetation change was infl uenced by high level of salts in mud substrate. Moisture conditions introduce additional heterogeneity in the spatial structure of vegetation cover.
